Care Technology Systems will provide a cost-effective, technology-based solution to remotely monitor the well-being of the elderly or disabled while they continue to live independently.
The technology utilizes sensors and software, tied to a web application, that will allow caregivers (informal or professional) the ability to monitor and interact in real time from a remote location. The technology can be customized to individual needs.
Assisted Alert consists of sensors communicating to an intelligent hub (built into a touchscreen), which communicates to a cloud-based server. The sensors can tell us what room a senior is occupying, if they’re in bed or in a favorite chair, when any of the doors have been opened or closed, etc.
This information is gathered and processed so that the system can learn what is “normal” for the resident. When a condition is outside of normal, an alert is given via text, e-mail, phone call, or even emergency response. The screen can also show helpful reminders (time to take your medicine) and provide interactive logging of activities provided by staff members.
For informal caregivers, an individual web interface can be accessed, showing all of the senior’s statistics and activity. For facilities, an aggregated interface provides an easy way to monitor multiple residences at once.
Biometric instruments (scales, blood pressure cuff, etc.) can be added if desired. The system also has an optional PE RS (Personal Emergency Response System) component for fall detection. The log-in page will act as a web portal, featuring senior-related advertising and a link to The Care Store, providing additional e-commerce opportunities.
